Voight: Hewitt Won't Hug Me, Either!

Days after making his emotional public plea for his daughter Angelina Jolie to get help, actor Jon Voight returned to Access Hollywood with another message. "I think Jennifer Love Hewitt needs help," said the star of Varsity Blues and Anaconda. Appearing shaken up at several points in the 10-minute interview, Voight alluded to Hewitt's "severe emotional problems."

Voight says he tried to hug Hewitt at a recent Hollywood premiere, but she stiffened and backed away. "It was like I was some kind of stranger," Voight said. "She clearly needs help. All I wanted to do was give her a nice bug hug, maybe caress her beautiful hair, stroke her shoulders…." He added that before he could even touch her, one of her representatives blocked his path.

Asked if he had ever met her before, Voight admitted he had not. "But I am a famous actor and a very loving, comforting man. Why would she not want to hug me unless she had some kind of severe emotional problems?" The 63-year old actor has not worked with Hewitt before, but expressed interest in doing so. "I would love to do a film with her," the actor said. "If we could collaborate together, I'm sure we could work out our differences, much like Angelina and I did on Tomb Raider…for a while."

Voight also named other young actresses he believes are experiencing severe emotional difficulties. "Sarah Michelle Gellar-I tried to hug you on Wilshire last week. What's wrong? Cameron Diaz-I'm here for you Cameron. What's that girl in the new Austin Powers movie? Knowles? Bouncey? She looks like she might need some comforting, too." At the close of the interview, Access Hollywood host Pat O'Brien offered to hug a tearful Voight, who politely declined.
